October is the peak festival month of the year. With Hangeul Day falling on Friday, October 9, the three-day holiday weekend (October 9–11) sees major overlaps: the Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival, Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival, Hoengseong Hanwoo Festival, and LetsRun Park Autumn Festival all run concurrently. The second weekend (October 15–18) brings another wave of regional food and culture celebrations across Ganggyeong, Gochang, and Yangyang. By November, large regional gatherings wind down, making way for the Busan Fireworks Festival, autumn foliage trails, and winter light installations. For a month-by-month itinerary, see our Autumn Festival Calendar; to plan holiday transit routes, check Hangeul Day Long Weekend Getaways.

Most annual festivals return around the same window each year. Use these dates as a ballpark reference when planning for future trips, but always recheck official announcements issued one to two months prior for final dates.
Most regional municipal festivals lock in their official schedules one to two months ahead of opening day. The most reliable sources are local government culture and tourism portals along with dedicated festival websites. Because outdoor events are vulnerable to last-minute delays or weather cancellations due to heavy rain or high winds, double-check official notices on the morning of your trip. If you need to secure accommodations early, always book rooms with flexible cancellation policies until dates are finalized.
