JIYU

JIYU is the leader of KiiiKiii, a five-member girl group under Starship Entertainment. She made her official debut with the group's first mini album, UNCUT GEM, on March 24, 2025, and in 2026 she promoted 404 (New Era), the title track of the second mini album Delulu Pack, followed by the third mini album WhyKiiiKiii. This page covers only what can be confirmed in the agency profile, interviews, and news reports.

Official Profile

The member section of Starship's official profile lists only names and dates of birth. Height, blood type, MBTI, and other details that official sources do not confirm are left out of this page. By the same profile, the members' dates of birth are LEESOL September 18, 2005; SUI April 10, 2006; JIYU May 14, 2006; HAUM November 14, 2006; and KYA December 18, 2010. JIYU is the leader, while LEESOL is the oldest member.

Before Debut

In an Allure Korea interview just before debut, JIYU said she was scouted on the street at her older brother's graduation ceremony when she was in her first year of middle school, and that she began to seriously dream of becoming an idol from then. In the same interview she explained that she had known the company for about five years, but because she lived in Busan, she had trained in earnest in Seoul for a little over two years.

She heard the news of her debut at a meeting she was called to without knowing what it was about. The moment she remembered most was the group's first music video shoot in Gunsan and Cheongju. As the only member from Busan, she speaks with a Busan accent, and she said her Seoul speech improved quickly while living with members who speak the Seoul dialect.

Her Role in the Group

Asked how she became leader, JIYU said the company thought she would be a good fit. HAUM said in the same interview that the members had a vague sense JIYU would become leader and all agreed with the choice.

KiiiKiii does not assign fixed positions to its members. KYA explained in the Allure Korea interview that the members do not set individual positions and instead take the parts that suit each song. JIYU's parts therefore change from song to song. A May 2025 report on her 3CE model contract described her as a member who covers vocals, rap, and dance.

At official events she often speaks on behalf of the team as leader. At the debut showcase she introduced UNCUT GEM as "an album that, like the meaning of an uncut gem, refuses fixed meanings and holds our free image." At the Delulu Pack showcase on January 26, 2026, she said the group had received love and attention they never imagined at debut, and that she wanted to grow into a better KiiiKiii on that foundation.
